Watermarking your images!

Postby Admin-John on Thu Feb 04, 2010 10:32 am

Every couple of months I check ukBPN's ranking on Alexa. Today, I have noticed a significant surge in traffic from India, noticeably we are ranked in their top 160k sites. My concern is that we aren't seeing new members from this part of the world.

So in order to be vigilant and knowing that India utilises images for many offshore activities (text books, brochures, websites etc), please ensure that you place a watermark on your images and keep an eye out for any plagarism (do a search for any particular species that you may post). Bear in mind that an 800px image is a good size for web usage!

Hi John

This might be a daft question but may I ask how to watermark your images? I've seen a few with a copyright watermarked across the image but never done it myself I usually just add a copyright notice on the bottom.

Hi Mark,

Sorry I meant watermark = placing a copyright notice.

Although you can digitally watermark media using Digimarc
