September 2009 POTM - "Peak of the action"

A revised format based on a monthly theme!

September 2009 POTM - "Peak of the action"

Postby mjmw on Wed Sep 02, 2009 8:12 am

This month's theme is "Peak of the action".

I expect to see some great images from you avian flight specialists...although I can think of plenty of other action that occurs while perched...

How to enter: Post one image as a reply to this thread before 23rd September. Only one entry per member or associate.

Judging: A voting poll will be posted after the 23rd September for members to vote. The moderators may have to make an initial selection, depending on the number of entries.

There is no prize, just the honour and glory from creating the photo of the month.

Some simple rules:

- Normal image adjustment is allowed: for example cropping, sharpening, levels etc. No composite images - that is, images created from two or more files.
- Photo to have been created since 1st September 2008.
- Basic technical data must be included - camera, lens, exposure data and date the photo was created. The easiest way to do this is with the photo's Exif data - it gets displayed automatically.
- Entries should be added as replies to this thread and can be posted from now until midnight on September 23rd (UK time).
- One entry per member, once posted you can not change the image except to meet entry criteria.

Remember, this is meant to be a bit of fun and encouragement to get out with your camera!

Mark, If this is meant to encourage members to get out with their cameras, shouldn't the creation date read after September 1st 2009 :?:

Yes and no ;)

Yes, it is to encourage people out with their cameras and no, I intended 2008 to help boost numbers of entries until the competition was more popular.

I am happy for it to be either way - what does everyone want?

I wasn't sure whether it was restricted to images for the month in question only or for the year. New images would be better but its often difficult to get out and about for new stuff (I can't even get out for an hour at present due to either work or the weather  ). I don't think there are any pro's on here are there? Probably best to allow older images for now as Mark says.

OK, changed back :)

Images from the past year are allowed.

I created a few images this afternoon that fit the theme - posted one in Wild Bird.
